Long Term Programs

While Holland Rescue Mission is committed to efficiently assimilating people back

into society, we are doubly committed to instilling them with a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ before they face an indifferent world again. Only Jesus can give them the strength to avoid the habits and behaviors that may have landed them at the Mission in the first place. Only Jesus ultimately brings the ingredients essential to richer, more successful living: faith, hope and love. It's our firm belief that a million free meals will never feed the soul like such simple and eternal truths.

LifeSkills Program

LifeSkills is a five-month residential program designed for men and women who are interested in learning the skills necessary to become stable and independent. Participants will obtain a foundation in God's Word and knowledge of biblical living.

LifeApplication Program

The LifeApplication Program is reserved for graduates of LifeSkills. This program is designed to help a person find victory in all areas of life. Participants begin their transition back into society by working or attending school full time. Spiritual growth and accountability continue to be fostered in evening Bible classes and church mentoring. The ultimate goal is for program graduates to gain a strong dependence upon God and independence within society.

Transitional Housing Program

In November of 2003 the Holland Rescue Mission began a Transitional Housing Program for the graduates of the LifeApplication program. The concept behind this area of ministry is to provide continued accountability at a reduced housing cost for participants. The Transitional Housing units are located on the 2nd floor of the Men's Center, with 12 mini apartments available and apartments are also available on-site at our Fairbanks location for women and families. The rent is on a sliding scale to increase as clients reach a more stable income level. Our goal is to provide assistance while equipping them to be on their own.
